Why I release my music by myself ๐Ÿค”

Some people asked me why I’m always releasing my productions just by myself at my Bandcamp page.

It is because of different reasons, but here are the main ones:

    1. I cannot find any label where my music would fit in.
I’m listening to almost everyday new music from the people and labels I follow in Bandcamp, which are all kind of music and styles, from ambient to nearly hardcore. Anyway, I’ve never felt like “cool! I think maybe this track of mine could be released in this label because the style or sounds are very similar.
    2. After years of sending my productions to labels without getting any answer, I’m already tired.
You would not believe how many emails I’ve sent, how many time I’ve spent on writing personal emails for different emails. How many time I’ve spent waiting for a reply before contacting the “next” label option. It takes too much time, effort and illusions, and generally getting nothing back. Not even a “no”.
    3. I’m not producing music because of fame or money.
I’m lucky for having a stable daily job working as IT. Therefore I don’t have to prostitute myself for selling music to buy food or pay the rent. For some people, maybe this is not so relevant, but I think this is one of the most important things. It helps me to keep the things as I want, not needing to sell myself as a brand and not having to lick other musicians/artists/Djs asses. Let’s say it let me be as I am.

I’m anyway open to work with other artists and open to speak about possible future releases on labels.
